Trumpet Skirt

The long graceful lines of the Trumpet Skirt are flattering to any figure. Only three pattern pieces— the panel, the godet, and the waistband are needed to make this comfortable, pleasing, and very wearable skirt.

• Full-sized pattern pieces for Large/Medium/Small
• Instructions for cutting & sewing
• Information on ikat fabrics
• Instructions for altering the length for petite and tall sizes and for conversion to Extra Large sizes.

Suggested Fabric
Light or medium weight cotton or silk fabric is recommended. If choosing a border ikat fabric, a fairly small motif works best. Or for added interest, alternate different fabrics in each panel of the trumpet skirt.

Notions
1" wide elastic for waistband (Large-33" /Medium 29"/Small-25"), thread to match

Finished Garment Size
Length of skirt is 35". You may lengthen or shorten the panels at any point. Select a size which allows at least 2" of ease around the hips.

Large
• Hips–46" Waist–34"

Medium
• Hips–44" Waist–30 "

Small
• Hips–42" Waist–26"

(You may increase or decrease the size by adding or subtracting from the width of the panels. For example, for Extra Large adding 1/4" to each Large size panel increases the size two inches. For extra small, subtract 1/2" from each small-sized panel and reduce the hip size by 4")

34"- 36" wide
• Thai ikat fabric with 3” borders along each selvage 3 1/2 yards

39" wide
• 2 1/2 yards

45" wide
• 2 1/4 yards
